The Yoshino river is famous for its crystal clear waters and breathtaking scenery. It’s the perfect place for a family adventure!
Do your kids love playing in the water? A special time is guaranteed.
The OTOYO Family Rafting course is located on the upper reaches of the Yoshino. We float down the river over 7km. There are 4 small rapids in this section, so parents and kids need to paddle together through these rapids. It’s a fantastic way to bond together as a family.
When we get to the slower section without any rapid, we can play games on the raft, or even jump off the boat and simply float in the river. Whatever you choose to do, kids will be hyped by the great outdoors that Yoshino river has to offer!
If you or your kids are up for a challenge, you can climb onto a small boulder and jump into the river (optional).
Don’t like playing in the water much? Can’t swim just yet? No worries! You will all have a life jacket to float with.
Could it be their first time swimming!? You can find out together!
If your kids do not want to get wet at all, they can hang out in the middle of the boat with their parents.
All of HappyRaft guides are certified by Rafting Association Japan (RAJ). We are professionally trained to secure safety of our guests on the river.

OBOKE family Rafting

OBOKE family Rafting Tour

We will operate a OBOKE family Rafting Tour on the same section of the river as our regular half-day rafting trip, under certain condition such as water levels. We will be on a separate boat exclusively for Kids Rafting and choose different routes when going through rapids. You can enjoy the real rafting trip with your kids.
There are 4 big rapids and 10 small rapids in this section. The river offers not only extreme rapids but also slower sections where you can float in the river along with the boat, or try cliff jumping (optional) from a big boulder: a half-day tour full of fun events!

Families paddle together through the big rapids, fully enjoying the great outdoors. Relax! Refresh! Soak up the amazing scenery of the Yoshino valley.

This tour is not only for kids, but also for those who are not so keen for anything extreme, or even for elder guests.
If your group has members who cannot be on the river, they can hang out at the HappyRaft base looking down on the river. They can have a nap on a hammock, play with the water by the river, or take a lesuirely stroll around the village. Our café serves amazing coffee and the best bagels in Japan.
