You can stay overnight at one of our HappyRaft guest houses! We have an old Japanese-style farm house quietly located on a mountain road surrounded by trees, just a 5-15 minute drive away from the HappyRaft base. There are no neighbors around making the house a kind of getaway.
If you've made the trip to Shikoku, rafting is not the only thing you should do! After exercising your body in the great outdoors, why not relax and enjoy the mountains of Shikoku? Otoyo Town, where we live, is located in the mountains, blessed by the Yoshino River and surrounded by beautiful mountains. There are no convenience stores, supermarkets, vending machines, or anything else around the inn. The beauty of the trees full of life, the chirping of the birds, the quiet and slow flowing time. | About Meals of the guesthouse. | There is no meal service provided at the guesthouse. There is a shared kitchen and BBQ area, so you can bring your own meals there.
◉BBQ fee: 500 yen per person (for use of BBQ area, BBQ stove, charcoal) There are some small stores and liquor stores around HappyRaft where you can buy groceries, but they don't stay open late at night! Only one restaurant that is open at night until 8:00 p.m. (about 30 minutes drive from the guesthouse along the mountain road.) Dinner options are available below, be sure to try some of Kochi's delicious food. |

This guesthouse is a Japanese-style farm house in the mountains of Shikoku that we call Teruya.
The location overlooking the Yoshino River gives it a great sense of freedom!
There are no houses around, so you can relax in the silence or make a big fuss with without worries
On a clear night, you can see shooting stars and the Milky Way under a star-filled sky, and in early April, you can see the beautiful rows of cherry blossoms!

②Takamotoya
At the top of the mountain, Takamotoya is owned by Grandpa Takamato and Grandma Tamiko, who talk about the history of this area and old stories. In the open landscape, there is a building of a private house with a great view of the steep misty stones and a sea of clouds in the morning. At night, the sky is full of stars, and shooting stars can be seen. A luxurious place surrounded by the green of the mountains, the blue of the sky, and the light of the sun. You'll feel as if you've come back to your own countryside. I hope it will become a spiritual home for many people.
